Guide To The Mood Board Of My Opening Film

 Hi Mediastudiers, in this post, I'll be creating a mood board for my opening project. My project is based on a stalker thriller flick. Dark pictures are projected on the mood board below to give the impression that my film will be tense.

MY MOOD BOARD

Overview

My mood board is meant to convey a dark, ominous vibe, which ties in with my kidnapping and stalking theme. My film will be heavily influenced by a dark mood, a monologue given by the stalker/kidnapper, because the genre of my opening sequence will be primarily a thriller. The mood board is meant to convey a dark and strange feeling in order to convey what the character will go through throughout the film, as well as a sense of how the character might feel in that situation.

  Characters

The main characters are the girl being stalked and the stalker. She is practically the main focus of the stalker and the movie revolves around her. She would be the one that is being conveyed as the perfect girl who the stalker has a fascination with. The stalker, the other main character, will deliver a monologue about the girl while he stalks her, which will be a very important part of the film. I have decided not to give the character names. The girl being stalked will be known as “The Girl Across the Street”. The stalker will not be mentioned so he is not given a name.

Setting

The setting of the film will take place at night on a dark street lit by street lights. A street in a community will be used as the stalker will be watching her run throughout a community. Although the street will be dark, the streetlights will be acting as a fill light to allow the audience to see the girl as the stalker describes her. The stalker will be shown as a dark figure when he’s on camera. This will be the main and only location of the film.

Lighting

As I said in my previous paragraph, I will be using the streetlight as lighting. It will be the main source

of lighting in the film. I was also planning on using the headlights from the car as a source of lighting

but I am not sure about it.

Costuming 

The costuming for my film won’t be difficult as my film will only consist of two people. The costuming

will be basic for each character. The girl would wear active attire like leggings or shorts, and an active

shirt/or sports bra. The stalker will wear all black clothing that shows as little skin as possible to show

the audience that he is trying to be discreet. The stalker would wear all black clothing which will include

a black hoodie as that seems very stalker-like.
