The Guide to Film Opening Research #1 - Movie Title

Hi mediastudiers, this class we were tasked with watching two movies from different genres and writing about the opening sequence to the film. Our teacher gave us a series of questions to answer as we observed the scene it to make easier on us. 

                                                                            Get Out



For this task, I decided to write about the movie Get Out which was a 2017 horror/ thriller written and directed by Jordan Peele. The movie surrounds a young African American man, Chris, and his white girlfriend, Rose who have reached the meet-the-parents milestone of dating. Rose asks Chris for a weekend retreat upstate with her parents, Missy and Dean. Chris initially interprets the family's overly accommodating behavior as worried attempts to deal with their daughter's interracial romance, but as the weekend progresses, a succession of progressively horrifying revelations leads him to a truth he could never have anticipated. This movie has 4 titles displayed during the opening scene of the film. The first title shown is Universal Studios which is an American film production and distribution company owned by Comcast through the NBCUniversal Film and Entertainment division of NBCUniversal. It is also one of the big 4 film companies. The second title is Blumhouse Productions. It is an American film and television production company that was founded in 2000 by Jason Blum. They are known for producing horror films such as Happy Death Day and the movie being reviewed, Get Out. According to their website, QC Production is... Finally, the last title is the name of the movie presented on the screen displayed in the opening scene. The images show the production company intros which leads the audience to predict that the movie is a horror film. The film shows a dolly screen of the trees. The movement of the trees suggests there will be a road trip taken into a wooded-forest-like area.

Guide To Movement/Shots: Wonder Woman 1984 Edition

Wonder Woman 1984 Edition Hi mediastudiers, today we're inspecting different camera angles and movements in a movie. I will be watching the movie Wonder Woman 1984. Like Avengers movies, this movie is supposed to have many example of the camera angles and movements we already covered in class.  To begin the movie a series of camera shots and movements were used in the scene. Aerial shot, low angle, dolly zoom, and crane were used to show the young Diana’s journey through the forest and over the river.
